Lebanon's Hezbollah group on Monday announced that it had targeted two Israeli military sites in the northern Israel's Galilee region with rockets and shells.

The group announced in a statement that it took the action as "an initial response" to the killing of three of its members.

"The two barracks were targeted using guided missiles and mortar shells, resulting in direct hits," the group said.

Earlier Monday, Hezbollah said three of its members were killed on Monday in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.

Earlier, the Israeli army announced the killing of "a number of militants who crossed the border from Lebanon."

Israeli Channel 12 reported that "three Israeli soldiers were injured in a clash" with gunmen who infiltrated the border.

On Sunday, Lebanon's Hezbollah reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian resistance, saying it is "not neutral" in the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas.
