Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation on Thursday to exchange views over the Israel-Palestine conflict, and solutions for the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Türkiye has been actively engaging in diplomatic efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and prevent its escalation in the region. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been holding discussions with various leaders since the onset of the conflict.

During his recent phone call with German Chancellor Scholz, both leaders discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the pressing humanitarian crises in the region, which have been a matter of global concern.

Erdoğan expressed Türkiye's commitment to finding a swift resolution and willingness to take peaceful steps, including mediation.

Erdoğan underlined that a lasting solution necessitates honouring promises made to Palestine and the international community's leadership in establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with territorial integrity based on the 1967 borders, and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
