The coordination meeting of foreign ministers of five Arab countries began on Saturday in Jordan's capital Amman with the aim of stopping the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The meeting is being held with the participation of the foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, as well as Hussein Al-Sheikh, secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, according to an Anadolu reporter.
The gathering comes ahead of the meeting of Arab ministers with the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to affirm the Arab position calling for a cease-fire in Gaza and ensuring the arrival of humanitarian aid, according to a Jordanian statement.
The Israeli army has expanded its air and ground attacks on the blockaded Palestinian enclave, which has been under relentless airstrikes since a cross-border attack by Palestine resistance group, Hamas, on Oct. 7.
At least 9,488 Palestinians, including 3,900 children have been killed in Israeli attacks since then, while the Israeli death toll has topped 1,500, according to official figures.
