2 Israelis injured as missile hits Ashkelon in southern Israel: Media reports

Two Israelis were injured in rockets launched from the Gaza Strip that hit the southern city of Ashkelon, emergency medical teams said Tuesday.

Paramedics are providing "medical treatment and transferring, from Ashkelon to Barzilai Hospital, two men in their thirties in mild condition, with injuries to the head," the Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service provider, wrote on X.

"Rockets launched from the Gaza Strip have caused injuries and damage in the southern coastal city of Ashkelon," the Times of Israel reported."Images show cars and buildings damaged by a rocket impact."

Israel has been carrying out relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip -- including on hospitals, residences and houses of worship -- since the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, launched a cross-border attack Oct. 7.

The number of deaths from Israeli attacks has surpassed 11,200, including more than 8,000 children and women, the Media Office in Gaza said.

The Israeli death toll is nearly 1,200, according to official figures.
