Gaza's government media office on Wednesday warned of an Israeli massacre at Al-Shifa Hospital after army forces stormed the medical complex.
Following extensive attacks around the hospital, the Israeli army raided the medical complex in Gaza City early Wednesday.
In a statement, the media office termed the Israeli raid on the hospital as "a war crime and a crime against humanity."
''The Israeli army raided the hospital despite the presence of nearly 9,000 medical staff, patients, and displaced people inside the complex," it said.
The media office held Israel, the United States, and the international community "fully responsible for the safety of thousands of people inside the facility."
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 11,320 Palestinians have been killed, including around 7,800 women and children, and over 29,200 others have been injured, according to the latest figures from Palestinian authorities.
Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have been damaged or destroyed in the Israeli offensive.
The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, stands at 1,200, according to official figures.
