Malaysia on Wednesday "unequivocally" condemned "countless" attacks on health care facilities in the Gaza Strip by Israeli "occupation forces that have resulted in hundreds of casualties."

"Israel's continued targeting of healthcare and vital facilities is a blatant violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

This is another "clear demonstration of the regime's attempt to totally annihilate the Palestinians."

Deploring recent attacks on the Perdana Global Peace Foundation and Indonesian hospitals in Gaza, it said the "dastardly" acts by Israeli "occupation forces" must end immediately.

Kuala Lumpur reiterated its demand for the international community to hold Tel Aviv responsible for the "inhuman" actions and to demand Israel respect the sanctity of health care facilities in accordance with international humanitarian law.

"Malaysia continues to stand firm by our principles position that the Palestinians deserve their own independent and sovereign state, based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital," it added.
