The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has reported with deep sorrow the killing of a colleague in northern Gaza under Israel's blockade.

The ICRC shared the news of the killing of one of its employees in Gaza on the X social media platform.

The post stated, "We are deeply saddened by the killing of our esteemed colleague, Abdellatif Ali Moussa, along with several members of his family in northern Gaza. Abdellatif served as a driver at the ICRC for approximately 20 years. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Abdellatif's family, friends, and colleagues."

Jagan Chapagain, the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), expressed deep sorrow over the ICRC employee's killing in a post, saying, "I am deeply saddened by the devastating news from the ICRC. On behalf of the IFRC, I would like to extend our deepest condolences for this profound and painful loss. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues from the ICRC."

Chapagain emphasized the need to protect humanitarian aid workers.
