Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Thursday that it had targeted an Amazon cloud computing facility in Bahrain in retaliation for US-Israeli attacks.
In a statement carried by Iranian media, the IRGC claimed that Amazon is among companies involved in "espionage activities and terrorist operations" against Iran.
It warned that continued assassinations of Iranian officials would lead to further attacks on other companies previously named in a list issued by the force.
On Wednesday, the Financial Times reported that Amazon's cloud computing unit in Bahrain had been damaged in an Iranian attack.
The IRGC on Wednesday threatened attacks on 18 US companies, including Google and Microsoft, alleging their involvement in attacks and assassinations inside Iran.
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
