Kuwait's National Guard said Thursday its forces shot down four drones from Iran in the past 24 hours amid escalating regional tensions.

National Guard spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jad'an Fadel Jad'an said in a statement that forces carried out the interceptions "at sites it is responsible for securing" without giving details about possible injuries or damage.

"This action is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security, protect vital sites, and counter any potential threats," he added.

Since Feb. 28, the US and Israel have been carrying out attacks on Iran, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
