Kazakhstan's President Kasim Jomart Tokayev observed the "Batil Toytarıs-2023" strategic military exercise, which involved 8,000 soldiers in the southeastern part of the country.
In his speech during the event, Tokayev emphasized the importance of such military exercises for his country's geopolitical position and drew attention to the rapid changes in defense systems.
President Tokayev stated, "Modern methods and techniques of warfare, especially hybrid warfare, are becoming more widespread. Attacks can involve not only military aspects but also information, psychological, political, economic, and other forms. Therefore, the Kazakhstan Armed Forces must be prepared for any kind of challenge. This is the fundamental requirement of a modern professional army."
He also noted the need to equip the military with high-tech weaponry, saying, "In my recent address, I set a goal to localize the defense industry sector. Armored vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, modern light weapons... We can produce all of these in our country, and we must."
