Lionel Messi was presented with the European Golden Shoe on Friday in Barcelona for the fourth time.
Messi, who scored 37 goals last season to win the award, was given it by Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez, who won it the season before.
The Barcelona star previously won the award in the 2009-10, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.
"I've been improving, adding more facets to my play, each day I enjoy being a player more and more," said Messi.
The Argentine forward, 30, started on the bench in the 0-0 draw with Juventus in the Champions League, ahead of Barcelona's top-of-the-table clash with second-placed Valencia on Sunday at Mestalla.
"Every time time I sit on the bench, there's a bit of fuss because I don't usually do it," added Messi.
"I don't like being out, I like participating, helping from on the pitch, but I also understand the year is long and each day you have to take care of yourself because the seasons get harder and harder.
"Valencia have a great squad, have a great coach [Marcelino Garcia Toral] and have a clear idea of how they want to play.
"They know their own game very well and they play once a week, then rest. It will be very tough and even more so on their pitch, but we will go there and try to win."
