Three more Russian athletes are appealing their sanctions including Olympic life bans in connection with doping practices at the 2014 Winter Games, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said Monday.
The trio are cross-country skiers Yulia Chekaleva and Anastasia Dotsenko along with biathlete Olga Zaytseva.
Twenty-two Russian athletes previously announced the intention to appeal their sanctions including double Olympic bobsleigh champion Alexander Zubkov, skeleton gold medallist Alexander Tretiakov and cross-country ski gold medallist Alexander Legkov.
A CAS arbitration procedure has been opened for each athlete. The athletes have requested that the CAS issue its final awards before the beginning of the Olympic Winter Games 2018 on February 9.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has imposed Olympic life bans and disqualified 25 Russian athletes from 2014 over the past weeks in connection with doping practices at the Sochi Games which included sample-swapping.
One other athlete has been cleared from wrongdoing and 10 other cases were still pending, the IOC has said.
