Başakşehir take over 1st spot in Super League by defeating Yeni Malatya

Medipol Başakşehir beat Yeni Malatya 1-0 on Friday, retaking the top spot in Turkey's Super League.
Fans at Istanbul's Fatih Terim Stadium saw only one goal, which came in the 18th minute of the first half, when Dutch winger Eljero Elia easily completed his teammate Edin Visca's pass inside the six-yard box.
Medipol Başakşehir increased its points total to 59 to take over first place. Facing Gençlerbirliği on Monday in the capital Ankara, Galatasaray will try to recapture the lead.
On Saturday evening, Beşiktaş -- who are sitting at 3rd place with 53 points -- will host Göztepe at Vodafone Stadium.
The other title contender, Fenerbahçe, will host Osmanlıspor at home to get another three points. They are currently at 4th place with 51 points.
