İstanbul-based football giants Fenerbahçe beat Osmanlıspor 2-0 at home in a Spor Toto Super Lig match Sunday evening to keep their title race on course.
Home team Fenerbahçe took the lead in the 54th minute when Fenerbahçe's French star Mathieu Valbuena took the corner and Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel scored with a header. Osmanlıspor goalkeeper Zydrunas Karcemarskas caught the ball, but the referee said it crossed the goal line.
In 60th minute of the play, Fenerbahçe doubled the gap as the team's Spanish striker Roberto Soldado put the ball into Osmanlıspor's net in the box.
Fenerbahçe won the match 2-0 and held on to the title race in the league.
Fenerbahçe, who are now in fourth place in the standings, raised their points to 54 in the Super Lig behind leaders Medipol Başakşehir with 59 points.
Beşiktaş are third in the standings with 56 points.
The other title contenders, Galatasaray, will try to recapture the lead when they face Gençlerbirliği on Monday in the capital Ankara.
