Germany internationals Mesut Özil and İlkay Gündoğan have met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in London ahead of Turkey's elections next month.
The two midfielders with Turkish heritage posed for a photograph with Erdoğan on Sunday and handed him shirts of their clubs, Özil's Arsenal and Gündoğan's Manchester City.
The picture, which also showed Everton forward Cenk Tosun, was published by Erdoğan's party on Twitter.
Özil also tweeted a photo showing him together with Gündoğan and Tosun with the message: "In good company this evening..."
Özil and Gündoğan, both born in Gelsenkirchen, are expected to be in Germany's provisional World Cup squad, to be announced on Tuesday by coach Joachim Loew.
