Werder Bremen have completed the transfer of Dutch international midfielder Davy Klaasen from Everton, the Bundesliga club said Friday.
Klaasen, 25, moves for reported club record fee of 15 million euros (17.4 million dollars), on a contract of unspecified length.
"We are happy that with him we have found the exact player we were looking for," Bremen sport director Frank Baumann told the club homepage.
Coach Florian Kohfeldt played a key role in convincing the 16-times capped player to commit to Werder.
"It played a role that Werder worked so hard," Klaasen said. "The coach wants to play attractive, attacking football."
Klaasen came through the Ajax youth system before joining Everton in 2017.
Bremen begin the new Bundesliga season on August 25 with a home northern derby against Hanover.
