This year Turkish archers posted their best performance ever at the international level by scoring a record-setting 21 gold medals as well as 15 silvers and nine bronzes.
By winning 45 medals in the 2018 World Championship as well as the European Championship, Mediterranean Games, World Cup, European Cup, Islamic Games, and European Grand Prix tournaments, Turkish archers enjoyed their top performance on the international stage this year.
Archer Mete Gazoz,19, won six gold, four silver, and two bronze medals in men's international competitions this year.
Yeşim Bostan and Yasemin Ecem Anagöz both proved their mettle in women's archery competitions, as Bostan won five golds, two silvers, and one bronze medal, while Anagöz brought home three gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.
"Turkish archers raised their international prestige by making history this year," Abdullah Topaloğlu, head of the Turkish Archery Federation, told Anadolu Agency.
