Lazio went fourth in the Serie A by beating visiting Spal 4-1 on Sunday with the help of Ciro Immobile's brace.
The international scored off a corner kick two minutes before Mirco Antenucci levelled off Manuel Lazzari. Immobile struck again before half-time with the help of a defender's deflection and has now eight goals, one less than league top scorer Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa.
Danilo Cataldi and Marco Parolo secured the Romans' win after the break and Immobile missed a hat-trick when his header came off the post.
Lazio are three points clear of AC Milan, who play a late game at Udinese to complete the Sunday programme after four other fixtures. Spal are 15th.
Leaders Juventus beat Cagliari 3-1 Saturday. Second-place Inter Milan are six points adrift after winning 5-0 against Genoa. Napoli, behind Inter on goal difference, beat Empoli 5-1 Friday.
