Spanish La Liga team Real Valladolid's Enes Ünal could not travel to the U.S. with his team for a preseason tour, as U.S. officials did not grant a visa to the Turkish striker.
Real Valladolid said on its website on Friday that the U.S. embassy in Madrid initially approved Ünal's travel to the country, but the player was yet to receive a definitive visa which would have allowed the 22-year-old forward to enter the U.S.
It added that the club hoped Ünal would soon be able to travel to the U.S.
Real Valladolid went to California for their preseason tour on Friday but Ünal -- lacking a visa -- had to stay in Madrid.
In addition to Ünal, the U.S. embassy did not give a visa to the Madrid team's Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu.
