Bayern Munich's series of first matchday wins came to an end when they were pegged to a 2-2 draw by visiting Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga season opener on Friday.
Robert Lewandowski scored both Bayern goals but it was not enough to overcome a determined Hertha side who had come from behind to lead 2-1 at half-time through new signing Dodi Lukebakio and Marko Grujic.
Champions Bayern had won their last six opening games of the Bundesliga season, and a seventh would have been a league record.
The dropped points will put the pressure on coach Niko Kovac and the club's management to strengthen the squad before the September 2 transfer deadline.
According to media reports Friday, Bayern are being linked with the signing of midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, possibly on a loan deal, and 20-year-old French midfielder Michaal Cuisance from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
