RB Leipzig ensured they will top the Bundesliga for another week with set piece goals from captain Willi Orban and Marcel Sabitzer setting the foundation for a 3-0 victory at Werder Bremen.
Leipzig had never previously won in Bremen but Orban's 13th minute header from a corner and Sabitzer's brilliant free kick had them cruising before half-time. Konrad Laimer was sent off for the guests midway through the second period before Marcelo Saracchi added a late third.
Julian Nagelsmann's team have 13 points from five games and lead by two points from second-placed champions Bayern Munich, who earlier routed Cologne 4-0.
Bremen could have moved into the European race with victory but remain 10th in a difficult season hampered by injuries.
