Turkish women judokas Irem Korkmaz and Gül Kader Şentürk target an Olympic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Korkmaz said she wants to represent her country with honor and have a gold medal around her neck when she returns to Turkey.
Korkmaz, 22, noted that while she is preparing for the Olympic games at a hectic pace, the games' cancellation also affected her training tempo.
"We made a great effort to keep our performance high during lockdown days at home," she added.
Şentürk, 25, said every athlete desires to clinch a gold, adding that she wishes to win a gold medal.
