Former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has joined Lyon on a two-year deal, the Ligue 1 said said on Wednesday.
The 2014 Germany World Cup winner, 32, was out of contract in Munich in July and had bided his time before picking his next club.
Lyon, coached by former Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz, conceded 43 goals last term and were looking for an experienced defender.
Boateng won two Champions Leagues, nine Bundesliga titles and five German Cups at Bayern.
