Argentina's di María to end international career after 2024 Copa
Ángel di María, the World Cup champion from Argentina, announced on Thursday through Instagram that he will be concluding his impressive run with the national team after next year's Copa América in the United States. He expressed his sorrow and emotions by stating, "I will bid farewell with great heartache and a heavy feeling in my throat."

Benfica forward de María said on Thursday night on Instagram he will bid farewell "with all the pain in my soul and a lump in my throat."
The 35-year-old made his national team debut in 2008 and has won 136 caps to date, scoring 29 goals.
He won Olympic gold in 2008, the Copa in 2021 and the World Cup last year, scoring the second goal in the final against France which Argentina won on penalties after a 3-3 deadlock.
On club level, di María has a contract at Benfica until 2024, with an option for another season in his second term at the club.
He won the Champions League, La Liga and two Copa del Reys with Real Madrid, five Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles each with Paris Saint-Germain, and the Portuguese league with Benfica.
The winger has also played for Manchester United and Juventus, and was Argentina's Footballer of the Year in 2014.
