Turkish-made unmanned combat aircraft ANKA-3 and fighter jet KAAN poised for maiden flights

TUSAŞ, the top aerospace company in Türkiye, is having a productive year due to heightened demand for aviation structures, both local and global deliveries, and innovative development initiatives. TUSAŞ has set its sights on the inaugural flights of two new aircraft by the end of the year - the unmanned combat aircraft ANKA-3 and the national combat aircraft KAAN.

The prominent aerospace company in Türkiye, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), has had a bustling year due to heightened requests for aviation structures, domestic and international shipments, and original development ventures.

As the end of the year approaches, there is a sense of heightened energy and anticipation. TUSAŞ is striving towards launching the maiden flights of both ANKA-3, their unmanned combat aircraft, and KAAN, their national combat aircraft, during this time.

ANKA-3 READY TO MEET THE SKY

Thanks to its advanced "flying wing" design, ANKA-3 is now prepared for its inaugural flight following various enhancements in areas such as structure, subsystems, and even radar visibility. This improved version boasts impressive features like increased speed and payload capacity.

ANKA-3 is anticipated to have its initial encounter with the sky by the conclusion of this year.

KAAN IN THE FINAL ASSEMBLY FOR ITS FIRST FLIGHT

The load tests for KAAN, a significant technology development project in Türkiye, have been finalized following continuous testing.
The mission systems and subsystems slated for KAAN's maiden voyage are now being placed onto the aircraft after undergoing independent assessments.
This assembly activity will be completed when the engines take their place in the prototype. After the assembly activity, KAAN will be prepared for its first flight with slow and then fast taxiing.
The intensification of these activities in mid-December and the realization of KAAN's first flight on December 27 are targeted.

The prototypes of ANKA-3 and KAAN will, like HÜRJET, conduct their first flights without paint. This will make it easier to identify issues that arise during flight and allow for improvements to be made to the aircraft.
