The Turkish Red Crescent has provided food aid to 400 disabled citizens in Sulaymaniyah, a city situated in northeastern Iraq under the control of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG).

Serdar Yılmaz, the head of the Turkish Red Crescent Iraqi Humanitarian Relief Delegation, told Anadolu Agency that the organization had distributed 400 food packages to disabled people living in the city.

Yılmaz also said that as the Muslims' holy month of Ramadan is approaching, the Red Crescent is planning to increase the amount of food aid provided to needy families.

"This year we will have various aid activities as Ramadan approaches, and we will try to get assistance from philanthropists," he said.

Yılmaz added that the relief organization would continue to provide help through the mobilization of programs directed toward people in need in the region, especially for those who have escaped from clashes in Mosul and those who struggle to survive in refugee camps.
