"This is a result of our determination, fight, and sagacity," Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said during a speech at a paramilitary police command in the eastern province of Mus. "It is the success of our security forces."
Along with 1,068 terrorists who have been killed, 27 were injured, 369 captured alive and 289 surrendered, Soylu said, and 1,256 shelters have been also destroyed.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
The terror group has since been responsible for the deaths of 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
Nearly 10,000 terrorists have been neutralized in air and land operations since July 23, 2015, according to the military. More than 7,000 of them have been killed and the remainder wounded, captured or surrendered.
