A total of three PKK terrorists made an infiltration attempt on a gendarmerie guardhouse in Hakkari, southeastern Turkey on early Saturday.
According to the statement of local governorship, the infiltration attempt happened at Buyukciftlik Gendarmerie Guardhouse. One of the terrorists was neutralized but two of them escaped, the statement said.
It added that one of the escaped terrorists was wounded.
The statement also said that a wide scale security operation began to capture the escaped terrorists.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
