Turkish forces have killed eight PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the governor said on Thursday.
The Hakkari governor's office said the six were killed in an air-supported operation near the Yuksekova district near the Iraqi border. The other two were killed in the Avasin-Basyan region of northern Iraq.
Separately, four civilians harvesting beetroot Thursday were injured by a landmine planted by PKK terrorists in the Semdinli district of Hakkari, the governor's office said in another statement.
They were taken to Yuksekova State Hospital. Two of them have been critically injured.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
