A Turkish court on Monday remanded into custody an alleged leader of an organized crime gang.
The ruling followed the arrest of Kadir İnan on Saturday at a shopping mall in Turkey's western İzmir province, police sources told Anadolu Agency anonymously.
İnan was later taken to Ankara Police Department and prosecutors requested he be remanded.
Three other suspects who were reportedly helping him were also arrested but the court released them under judicial control and with a ban on leaving the country.
İnan had been wanted on various charges including establishing an organized crime group, assault and battery plus possession of unregistered firearms.
