Tractor carrying workers overturns in Turkey, 7 dead

At least seven people were killed after a tractor carrying nut workers overturned in western Sakarya province, said a security source on Friday.

Sakarya Governor İrfan Balkanlıoğlu told reporters all the victims -- seasonal agricultural workers from Mardin province in southeastern Turkey -- were related.

Five females and two males lost their lives in the tragic incident in Sakarya, western Turkey. Nine other people were injured, Balkanlıoğlu told reporters.

It is reported the owner of the tractor-drawn trailer gave the vehicle's keys to one of the family members who then lost control while driving on a downhill slope.
