Four PKK terrorists have been killed in a military operation in the southeastern Hakkari province, Turkey's Interior Ministry said Thursday.
The ministry said in a statement that the terrorists were killed in a rural area near the village of Oglu and identified them by their aliases: Piro Amed, Mordem, Zagros, and Cemal.
Piro Amed, whose real name is Abdullah Sonmez, is the perpetrator of two terror attacks in recent months that martyred three security officers, according to the statement.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
