Turkish forces seize over 1,300 kg hashish

Turkish security forces seized over 1,300 kilograms (2,868 pounds) of hashish in southeastern Diyarbakır province, Governor's Office said Monday.

According to the statement, the gendarme forces condcuted anti-narcotics operation and seized 1,355 kg (2,988 pounds) of hashish in Lice district of the province.

Also, 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of hashish were seized in central Kayseri province on Monday, a security official, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, told Anadolu Agency.

Meanwhile, police and gendarme forces conducted a week-long anti-narcotics operation in northwestern Kocaeli province, Governor's Office said in a statement on Monday.

Over 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of heroin, 563 grams (1.25 pounds) of hashish were seized in the operation on Sep. 18-25, it said.
