The head of the Gaza Strip's Hamas-run security apparatus survived an assassination attempt on Friday, according to a local security source.
Tawfiq Abu Naim was injured when a bomb planted in his car exploded following Friday prayers, the source, who spoke anonymously due to the issue's sensitivity, told Anadolu Agency.
Abu Naim has since been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
Hamas, which has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007, has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
