At least 279 PKK and Daesh-linked terrorists have been detained in counterterror operations throughout Turkey in the past week, the interior ministry said in a statement Monday.
According to the statement, Gendarmerie and Police Special Operations Squads and the military carried out a total of 1,366 operations.
Security forces detained 216 PKK-linked terrorists, and 63 Daesh terrorists in the operations, while 58 other PKK terrorists have been killed.
Meanwhile, 5,273 suspects have been detained in operations targeting narcotics and irregular migration.
Turkey has been carrying out operations against the PKK and its affiliated groups inside and outside of the country over the past two years.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
