Anadolu Agency has captured footage of areas occupied by PKK terrorists at Mt. Qandil in northern Iraq.
Footage shows a huge poster of terrorist ringleader Abdullah Ocalan in Erbil's Choman district -- 17 kilometers (11 miles) from the Iranian border -- a region occupied by the terrorist PKK.
Local sources in the region said Turkish war planes periodically bomb PKK-occupied areas at Mt, Qandil. The PKK terrorists are in panic because of Turkish army's advances to the mountain, the sources said on condition of anonymity due to security reasons.
The terrorists are also present on the Iranian side of Mt. Qandil, they added.
The PKK terrorists have occupied a number of Iraqi villages, where the locals cannot even go in their own yards and orchards.
Iraqi villages close to the Iranian and Turkish borders have productive lands for farming and beekeeping. However, PKK terrorists have prohibited villagers from carrying out any of these activities.
Airstrikes on PKK targets in northern Iraq, where the terror group has its main base in the Mt. Qandil region, near the Iranian border, have been carried out regularly since July 2015, when the terrorist PKK resumed its armed campaign.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey as well as the U.S. and EU. In its terror campaign against Turkey, which has lasted for more than three decades, over 40,000 people have been killed, including women and children.
