One construction worker was killed and another was rescued after being trapped under concrete rubble from a road project in northwestern Turkey, officials said on Wednesday.
The workers were among several buried under rubble when a concrete block fell on them during ongoing construction of the Gebze-Kocaeli section of the Northern Marmara Motorway.
An undetermined number of workers remains under the rubble.
The worker who was recovered from the rubble alive was taken to a nearby hospital, Kocaeli Governor Hüseyin Aksoy told Anadolu Agency.
The dead body of another of the workers was also recovered, he said later.
Rescue teams are at the scene of the accident, including Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) teams, firefighters, and ambulances.
