Turkey may launch international probe into Khashoggi, FM Çavuşoğlu says
Speaking after the NATO Foreign Minister's meeting in Brussels Wednesday, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Ankara would willingly take part in an international probe into the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.

Turkey will not hesitate to consult international quarters if a deadlock is reached on the Jamal Khashoggi probe, the foreign minister said Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters after the NATO Foreign Minister's meeting in Brussels, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said a probe into the killing of the Saudi journalist is ongoing.
Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, was killed after entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
After saying he had left the consulate alive, Saudi Arabia admitted weeks later that Khashoggi was killed there, blaming his death on a group of rogue Saudi operatives.
Reacting to recent remarks by U.S. special envoy to Syria calling Astana peace talks a failure, Çavuşoğlu said the statement was "unfortunate".
U.S. Syria envoy James Jeffrey will travel to Turkey for High-Level Working Group on Syria and this issue will also be raised in the meeting, he said.
Çavuşoğlu also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump himself brought up the F-35 fighter jets issue during a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the G20 Summit last week.
"Trump himself brought up the issue and told Erdoğan he didn't want any problems in the sale. There have been some initiatives in Congress but this is a very comprehensive project. We currently don't see any problems about the project," Çavuşoğlu said.
