Turkish security forces "neutralized" two PKK terrorists in the southeastern Siirt province, according to a security source on Tuesday.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
Air-backed operation against the terror group was launched by gendarmerie forces in the rural area of Eruh district, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions speaking to the media.
The operation is ongoing, the source added.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
