Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo discussed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's upcoming visit to Washington in a phone call Friday.

Erdoğan will visit the United States to discuss developments in northern Syria on Nov. 13 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The diplomats also discussed the extradition of terrorist ringleader Ferhad Abdi Şahin, or Mazloum Kobani, a terrorist sought by 196 countries and the so-called commander of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is dominated by the People's Protection Units (YPG) terrorists.

Interpol currently has a Red Notice warrant out in Şahin's name for playing a crucial role in the PKK terror group and its Syrian offshoot the YPG.

The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union and has waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years, resulting in the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
