Over 1,600 new coronavirus cases and more than 900 recoveries were reported in Turkey on Saturday.
In a tweet, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said 1,673 more infections have raised the country's overall count to 278,228.
He said 984 more patients recovered over the past 24 hours, taking the total to 250,092.
The death toll increased by 56 to reach 6,620, the minister added.
A total of 99,497 more COVID-19 tests were conducted over the past day, pushing the total up to over 7.68 million.
The number of patients in critical condition stands at 1,091, according to Koca.
Across the world, COVID-19 has claimed almost 876,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since last December.
The US, Brazil, India, and Russia are currently the worst-hit countries.
Over 26.67 million COVID-19 cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries over 17.77 million, according to figures compiled by the US' Johns Hopkins University.
