A Turkish court on Friday sentenced an opposition party lawmaker to 10 years in prison, according to judicial sources.
A High Criminal Court in the southeastern Diyarbakır province found Remziye Tosun of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) guilty of terrorist crimes, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Tosun was charged with being a member of an armed terrorist group.
Turkey's government accuses the HDP of being linked to the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
