Turkish security forces "neutralized" at least five PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
The terrorists were neutralized during an air operation in the Haftanin and Gara region, it said on Twitter.
Turkish authorities often use "neutralize" to imply that the terrorists in question surrendered, were killed or were captured.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
