Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday received Peter Szijjarto, Hungary's minister of foreign affairs and trade.

The closed-door reception at the presidential complex in the Turkish capital Ankara lasted for an hour.

The contents of the talks were not disclosed, but they came in the runup to an EU Council meeting this week that will discuss relations between Turkey and the bloc, which Hungary is a member of.
