Turkish foreign minister meets with his Turkmen counterpart in Ashgabat

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Turkmenistan to meet with Rashid Meredov, his counterpart and chair of the country's Cabinet, in the capital Ashgabat on Wednesday.
"Following the meeting of Minister Fidan with Foreign Minister Meredov, a meeting between the delegations of the two countries was realized," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
Preparations for an upcoming visit to Türkiye by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov were discussed during the meeting, it added.
"Trade, energy, transportation, construction services, interparliamentary cooperation, education, cultural and consular matters were discussed," it said.
Fidan and Meredov also signed a cooperation protocol between the countries' foreign ministries covering 2024-2025.
