The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that the "Nusret-2023 Invitation Exercise" is underway in Çanakkale and Saros Gulf from November 28 to December 6, hosted by Türkiye.
According to the statement from the ministry, the purpose of the exercise is to "provide training on the planning, execution, and evaluation of mine warfare for the participating units and commands, and enhance the interoperability of mine warfare elements participating from different countries."
As a result, units from the Naval and Air Forces Command and the Coast Guard Command, as well as elements and observer personnel from 15 friendly and allied countries, will participate in the exercise.
In addition, a press briefing for the exercise, which will also involve the NATO Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group-2 (SNMCMG-2), will be held tomorrow at 10:00 at the Çanakkale Naval Museum. At 14:00, defense industry companies will organize exhibitions, presentations, and live demonstrations at Nara Military Port and the historic Nara Castle.
