Türkiye appoints new deputy foreign ministers

Türkiye has appointed three new deputy foreign ministers, according to a decision published early Friday in the Official Gazette.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the appointment decision of Nuh Yılmaz, who was serving as Foreign Ministry chief adviser.
Yılmaz also served at the National Intelligence Organization for 10 years in various capacities, including press adviser and head of its analysis department.
In 2008-2011, Yılmaz served as founding director of the Washington office of the Ankara-based Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) think tank.
He has taught at various universities in Türkiye, Canada, and the U.S.
Burhanettin Duran, a graduate of Boğaziçi University and Bilkent University, is a leading authority on Turkish foreign policy, U.S. and European relations, Islamism, democracy, conflict resolution, and civil society.
He has authored many publications and held key positions, including general coordinator of SETA and membership in the Presidential Security and Foreign Policies Board.
Ayşe Berris Ekinci graduated from the Economics Department of the Middle East Technical University and completed her master's degree in finance at Boston College in the U.S.
From 2003 to 2007, Ekinci served as the first counselor at Türkiye's Permanent Mission to the UN.
She later served as the consul general of Türkiye in Marseille from 2010 to 2012, followed by a role as the deputy director general for energy, water, and environment.
From 2016 to 2021, Ekinci served as Türkiye's ambassador to Havana, and in 2022, she assumed the position of director general for energy and environment.
