Turkey's fight against terrorism

Turkey continues its fight against the Gulenist terror organization, FETÖ. In the first leg of the operation, more than 1000 covert imams in 72 provinces have been taken in custody. In the second round, the government has suspended 9,103 personnel from the police force.

The operation was carried out following investigations into links with FETÖ and its ringleader Fetullah Gülen who orchestrated the failed coup attempt July 15.

The Turkish Interior Minister highlighted that Turkey has stepped up anti-terror efforts to prevent terrorists from threatening the nation's peace and security.
