Pakistan's lawmakers elect Asif Zardari as the new president
Pakistan's lawmakers have chosen Asif Ali Zardari as their president for a second term. Zardari, whose wife was the late former premier Benazir Bhutto, and who fathered former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, will now serve as their country's leader once again.
