Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Egypt on Saturday for talking with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi.
The talks between the two leaders are expected to tackle the latest developments in the Palestinian and Arab spheres, the Palestinian embassy said in a statement.
Abbas's visit comes days before the Palestinian leader heads to Washington for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry said earlier this week that Cairo was ready to provide guarantees to ensure peace between Palestine and Israel.
Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations collapsed in April 2014 after Israel refused to halt settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories.
